Present Absence Our estimated artist Mindglide debuts Bandcamp site where fans can finally find all his releases available. This includes the remarkable albums Down the light and Radiance , released on Altera Orbe back in 2011 and 2012 with notable success and also two new albums that the artist recorded since then, Cosmogenia (2012), an intimate soundtrack for deep space journeys and Present Absence (2015), a delicate and highly detailed exploration of the electronic music divided on three chapters with a generous amount of vintage and futiristic sounds and soundworlds.

Mindglide has also released a remastered early work entitled Tangent, which is also an awesome sounding masterwork that Tangerine Dreams fans will easily enjoy as it contains a lot of sequences, long evolving melodies and drifting soundwolds with a bit of both experimental and psychodelic elements to enhance the experience.

As most of you already know, Mindglide music is mostly based on cosmic electronic ambient with berlin school influences, genres that he deeply explores with those new releases, available for the first time. All of them are also carefully mastered by himself in his home studio.

Mindglide – Down the Light [AOR0012]

MIndglideDown the Light, is the first album by ambient artist Mindglide , recorded back in 2007 and now remastered and rebuilt. It is a gorgeous space ambient work, full of nostalgic and beautiful melodies surrounded by a complex universe of synthetic sounds and harmonies with several influences from ambient, jazz and classic genres.

In Mindglide’s words:

Down the light is my first electronic music album, a work free of all standards and prejudices, an intimate feeling converted in to the music that approaches me to the cosmos, my  primal roots. It is inspired by the contemplation of landscapes where light writes the history of the universe throughout its existence, traveling in all directions through space and time and showing us the great spectacle of creation. A landscape of infinite magnificence, where everything is part of life.

All music composed, performed, produced and recorded by Mindglide between february and september 2007. Remastered and mixed in Abstrack Studios, Valencia (Spain) 2012.

Mindglide

Mindglide is the electronic musical project behind Rafael De Julián, an independent artist born in Valencia, Spain, with a deep influence from  electronic music, progressive rock and jazz. He started studying and creating music in the early 90’s attracted by synthesis and sequencing as a way of composing and developing his ideas with the main objective of evoking rich and deep feelings onto listeners.

Mindglide’s music is aimed to transmit evocative atmospheres and portraits of a free form universe, allowing the listener to expand his mind and  his  imagination beyond musical boundaries. According to this, his music is presented full of dense timbrical structures, rich soundworlds and progressive composition schemes.

His main tools include analogue and digital synthesizers and sequencers, software synths and his recently adquired eurorack modular system. Here, his preferences go towards FM synthesis and wavetables with synths like the Yamaha SY99 and the Korg Wavestation to mention some. While his music shows evident influences by ambient pioneers like Brian Eno and Steve Roach, krautrock and the Berlin school are also present in his compositions thru artists such as Tangerine Dream or Klaus Schulze, as well as several bands going from symphonic rock to jazz styles.

Re-imagining, re-working, re-mastering of the 2009 release, now with two new tracks.

Originally, SCS was created to honor the divine feminine, which is said by many to be making it’s way back to a place of prominence on Earth—balancing the heavily male energy that has been in place for millennia.

The dominant notes here are fluidity, fecundity, flow, and flexibility—and a lot of sounds from Mother Earth herself.

369 – Zero Ohms

A journey of what seems to be an unending ascension of shifting drones and wind-synth chords which take you to the very edge of space and beyond.

A superb follow-up to Worlds, Afterworlds, “369″ by Zero Ohms features flutes, bass flutes and wind-controlled synthesizers over a unique collection of field recordings.

He started his musical activity in 2005 immersed in the electronic music scene of the Berlin School and has been deeply influenced by artists like Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Ashra Temple, Michael Hoenig for more than 25 years.
